Square René Viviani

In the year 1928 the small enclosure around the church St. Julien le Pauvre was converted into a square.
En 1928 le petit enclos de l'église St. Julien le Pauvre a éte aménagé en square.

                                                                       

In spring it offers some nice views of St. Julien le Pauvre a small church as old as Notre Dame....
En printemps il offre des vues agréables sur St. Julien le Pauvre une petite église aussi ancien que Notre Dame....

                                                           

..and some remains of ancient times...

But in particular it is home to the oldest tree in Paris which was planted here in 1602 and it now kept up by a cement structure.
                                        

It was brought over from North America by the botaniste Robin and is therfor called Robinier.
Il a éte ramené D'Amérique du Nord par le botaniste Robin d'où le nom Robinier.

                                   

In the middle of the square a sculpture by Georges Jeanclos..
